Vocational Training

Though the children admitted for rehabilitation are to be sent away at the age of 12, we are not able to do so as we are aware that they have nowhere else to go and to sustain or improve on the advance they have made in their condition. Additionally, with the introduction of academic education under the NIOS (National Open School Scheme) in Adarsh, the upper age limit has become irrelevant for such children. Today in December 2022 we have around 150 children over 18 years who are attending vocational training as well as classes under NIOS. So far 20 children successfully completed NIOS Senior Secondary level (12 Std). Adarsh is the only accredited agency for conducting such examinations (among special schools). Over 100 children from this centre as well as from other centres attend examination under A, B and C level examinations every year. After their Secondary Level examination, Adarsh has started an Under Graduate Batch under IGNOU for 8 students. But many of them would like to learn a trade which can help them to earn a living and lead of life of DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE as adults.
